By far, the request to
digitally extract contours from a USGS topographic map is our most
requested service we offer. When you need the accuracy of an
original USGS map, this is the only way to achieve it.
The
Process
A USGS topo separate is
purchased from the USGS and scanned at a high resolution. Once
the raster is captured, the image is processed using a proprietary
raster to vector conversion software package. This gives a clean
vector contour layer that can be exported into most mapping and GIS
software package file formats.
Pricing
The following price ranges
are estimates based on converting ALL features (contours,
hydro, roads, plss, text, etc.) from a standard USGS 1:24k topographic
map.
